Civil/Structural Engineer – US


We are seeking a enthusiastic Civil/Structural Engineers to support our growing US Operations. You will be working on strategic water, waste, and energy projects in real estate development and hospitality, industrial, and municipal sectors across North America and the Caribbean. We are specifically seeking people passionate about water sports – your first projects will be supporting our partnership with Surf Lakes (Home — Surf Lakes) and its licensees – to design and execute some of the first Surf Lakes in the United States.

We execute projects with a ‘one team’ philosophy, reporting to the Manager, Engineering, you will be an integral part of the North American Engineering team.

Position Description:

Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, as a Civil/Structural Engineer at Integrated Sustainability, you will have the opportunity to expand your career through working on exciting water and waste projects.

You will participate in all areas of our portfolio and project phases, from feasibility level to detailed design/execution for $50M + projects. You will be an integral part of our Engineering Team developing and implementing technical solutions in both the office and the field.


  • Prepare structural engineering designs from conceptual design through to detailed design, tender and construction in accordance with Canadian Codes and Standards
  • Perform site visits, inspections, and preparation of reports relating to existing and new structures
  • Expert level experience in custom steel structures for extreme service, including high horsepower compression and pumping equipment
  • Preliminary and detailed design of structures for water treatment, renewable natural gas, and compression plants in the contiguous United States
  • Design for support for static equipment design including tanks, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers
  • Perform evaluation and analysis of existing structures for modifications and additions, and propose reinforcement solutions
  • Foster critical relationships with clients, technical and non-technical staff, government representatives, and technology suppliers
  • Establish cost and schedule for project deliverables
  • Interface with other departments to develop and implement multi-disciplinary project strategies
  • Thorough understanding of the design of structural steel, concrete, masonry, and timber
  • Proficiency in application of building Codes and Standards
  • Proficiency in structural engineering analysis and design software such as SFRAME, ETABS or SAP2000, and Microsoft Office products. Expertise in non-linear time history analysis would be considered an asset


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural engineering from a recognized University (Master’s degree would be considered an asset)
  • 5-7+ years of design experience for commercial / industrial / municipal projects in the mining and energy sectors
  • Professional Engineering (PE) licensure in Nevada is required.  Candidates suitable for immediate licensure in California, Arizona, and Texas will be preferred.
  • Candidates living in the metro areas of Phoenix, Austin, or Dallas/Fort Worth will be preferred.
  • Committed team player with experience in working in a leadership role within a multi-disciplinary engineering team
  • Excellent English communication skills, and experience in preparing and reviewing technical reports
  • Proven leadership and communication skills, with strong client communication skills
  • Business development skills and client base and contacts in North American across sectors are an asset
  • Excellent English communication skills, and experience in preparing and reviewing technical reports
  • Legally able to work in US and/or Canada
