Conversion of a remote diesel power based fish farming facility to a hybrid solar powered microgrid. Energy demand modeling, power production modeling and detailed design of electrical and controls systems.

The Challenge

Integrated Sustainability with tasked with designing a technically robust & economical renewable power generation system for a remote floating facility.

Deliverables included:

  • Modeling of energy demand, potential power production and diesel use reduction
  • Detailed electrical and controls design
  • Solar PV layout designs

The Result

Integrated Sustainability investigated the best potential options for a microgrid design and developed a detailed design that met the power needs of the site. The system was optimized to meet the unique requirements of the facility which included high peak power, year round operation, low visual impact requirements, and system flexibility.
