The Challenge
The regulatory challenge that Integrated Sustainability has been tasked with is to have a Water Act Term License prepared, submitted and approved for the client on a waterbody for which there are currently no approved term licences. The objective is to obtain the approval as soon as possible, so that the client is first in line for a license on the Cutbank River. In addition, obtaining access to the river is a challenge, due to the key wildlife and biodiversity zone along the river.
The Result
Integrated Sustainability has completed both a preliminary hydrological model and hydrological assessment of relevant stretches of the Cutbank River. Along with this, an intake location evaluation and environmental assessments of the chosen location were undertaken. A Water Act Application for a Term Licence based on the results of the preliminary assessment and the proposal for the water intake infrastructure and its location were also completed.
