Integrated Sustainability was retained to evaluate and confirm that the loads provided by the addition of architectural timber fascia features can be supported by the existing building cladding system at an existing facility undergoing expansion. Integrated Sustainability was also asked to develop stamped structural engineering designs, as well as connection detailing for the architectural timber features, based on previously designed architectural layouts.
Integrated Sustainability performed specified dead load and connection detail calculations and confirmed that the architectural timber element was possible with some design modifications.
Despite a strict design envelope, Integrated Sustainability was able to provide a design that did not affect the structural capacity of the existing building. The stamped engineering drawings were completed on an accelerated schedule that avoided construction delays.
